Cortez said that he stumbled over Del Pilar’s role in history while studying the life and history of the “Great Plebian”—Andres Bonifacio, the acknowledged “Father of the Katipunan.”
He claims that documents revealed that Plaridel had a far greater role in planning the revolution.
“Talambuhay ni Bonifacio ang aking sinasaliksik, pero napunta ako kay Plaridel dahil nung mabasa ko ang mga dokumento ay lumitaw na mas malaki at mas malawak ang papel ni Plaridel sa rebolusyon (I was studying Bonifacio’s biography when it led me to Plaridel because the documents revealed that Del Pilar had a more extensive role in the revolution,” Cortez said.
