A Sagada Reader
William Henry Scott is a retired lay missionary of the Episcopal Church who taught history in the Philippines for more than 30 years, in such schools as the University of the Philippines, Anteneo de Manila University, Silliman University, the University of Baguio, St. Andrew's Theological Seminary, and the University of Santo Tomas. He was, for several years, the only "alien" teaching Philippine history in the State University. Dr. Scott was educated in Yale, Columbia, and the University if Santo Tomas.
"Scotty's" love affair with the Filipino people has lasted over three and half decades. Having retired from the teaching ministry, he has now returned to his home in Sagada, where he continues to write, with occasional forays to Metro Manila or other places to check with people, the National Library, and other sources on some minutiae.
